I hear about fall being a good time, we dont seem to catch too many though. But my favorite time is in early to mid June when the water temps. are up and they are in a long pre-spawn period. I think thats the time for the biggest and the most fish. I also like early to mid. July. Even though I did'nt do good at that time this year. But not for the numbers but for the big ones.

As soon as the water temps break 52 to 55 * is the best time we have had for large flatheads

Prespawn is a favorite for me. I dont catch too much here in fall either, but the prespawn is excellent for the cats to be running around gobbling up the little baitfish. Spawn happens (usually) about late May, early June around here, so I have March, April, and most of May to fish them after the water warms up.

I really like to fish from late summer to early fall, seems like they start pilling into the deeper spots.

I would have to say from June to November here. I caught my 32#er in June about 5 years ago.

Man thats tough, it would be a toss up between pre-spawn and fall! You know they'll eat just about anything in the Spring and the same is true when their feedin' up for Winter! Either one works for me!:)

I know many people will disagree with me, but the dead heat of the summer in July has produced best for me. Just my two cents.

About this time of year I get bored, nothing to hunt so might as well slay some big cats.....
