Whats the difference?

    between a casting reel and a conventional reel?

    that's kinda hard to say the way ya put it man.

    There's basically 3 kind of reels: closed faced or spin cast reels, open-faced or spinning reels, and then the baitcasters or freecasters.


    not sure what kinda info your lookin for. All of them can get the job done..some are easier with practice...others are a nightmare without practice..lol

    I was taught that a baitcaster and conventional are the same thing.

    It may be that when the conventional reel was designed with a free spinning spool they became bait casters. In essence, they are the same thing.
