My favorite is an 8' 6" Daiwa Heartland salmon/steelhead MH rod with a Bass Pro 6000 series reel. Very nice, well balanced combo, but it has the muscle to lean into a big boy if I need to. My next favorite is a 7'6" Ugly stick with a garcia 6500 on it. That silly rod seems to always get the most bites and catch the most fish, no matter where I am.

I would have to say that my favorite rod is the Berkley E-CAT #4, the tip is sensitive enough to detect the fish that arent biting agressive, but you can put the muscle to the frisky ones, i match them up with a Garcia 7000 C3, and i also have a Shakespear Tidewater 30LA on one of them, I dont think I could fish without my ECATS...I love them

I've always used either a zebco 202 (for bluegill) and a 404 (for the kittys). as for the rods, if tryed many different ones... currently I've got a 7' ugly stick with a 404 and a 4' 3" shakespear with the 202 for bluegills...

I'm partial to my Berkley Big Game rods from Wally world, topped off with Abu 6000's or 7000c3 reels.

I have 2 seven foot MH action Ugly Stik Tiger rods that are my favorites but then again I dont have a custom built Gator rod. I have heard a lot good things about them and plan on buying one.

i have 2 12 foot xtra heavy ugly stiks that i just got this year and i will have to say they are awesome! rated at 24 ounces i can put a 12 ounce sinker on and a pretty good sized skip jack or shad and not have to worry about snapping the rod on the cast. i love these rods. i also have 2 7 foot medium action ugly stik tiger rods for boat fishing that i'm pretty partial to.

Surge rods are without a doubt my favorite! They have plenty of backbone but a light enough tip to see little bites. They handle big weights (16 oz) really well as well. I love them and recommend them to anyone!
