Below are some pictures of log jam on bridge at Humboldt about 200 ft above lowater dam.Does it look like a flathead hole?Right now river flow is 7700 cfs and cant even get to place to fish it.Anyone wants to show me how to catch a fish out of here let me know.

looks like a new log jam? also looks shallow? might not be any good now, but I would fish from a boat tucked up between the pillar and brush and fish the current break from the brush and also the bridge. good luck

Problem no boat access on the river.

I agree. Get right behind it and drop a bullhead down in there and hang on.

Just read the post of no access. I would try to use a big rod and put a bullhead on a big float behind the jam next to the bridge piller

in my opinion looks like ther could be multiple fish in it and i like the float with a bullhead idea:big_smile: but i'd prefer a big half pound bluegill under the float:crazy::big_smile: or get a small jon right up on it and put a sunfish right next to the log jam and pillar:wink:

oh baby that looks good if it were me id try to thread the needle meaning cast a bait through the arch between the two pillars. the water looks pretty calm should stay put if you can keep your rod tip up high enough to keep the line out of the water:wink: you should give er heck and let us know how big of fish you get

The river needs to go down 4 or5 ft before I can do it.Right now I cant even get to decent place to fish from.Cant tell from pictures but I was about 10 ft up real steep bank and about 60 ft out to pilings. When river gets down there are big flat rock slabs from old bridge supports to fish from. This is real old log jam thats been here for years.Earlier this year it almost had the river plugged but most of it broke loose in first flood. When it gets down I'm going to put 1 perch on bottom upstream and float 1 on Kat bobber in slack water.

Sounds like a plan, Ray! Is there any kind of access upstream a few miles?
Be nice to work that over slow with a well placed jon boat. There's got
to be something in there, the spot just looks too good and there's that
slack water with the archway through the pylon that just begs for some
cat to move in for as long as he could hold the spot. Best of luck to ya!

I cant tell from the pic how far it is, but those stairs on the other side in yyour last pic look close. Looks like there is access there, maybe be able to float one over there.

Only place I know of is a couple of hundred yards above the bridge a farmer has a real nice boat ramp but he doesnt let anyone in.This river is real unfriendly to boaters, landowners just dont want you on river.
