The serial number is 6541229. I was told you tell by it some how. I think it is a 1986, or at least thats what the used car salesmen told me that I bought it off of.

Tony who ever told you that was blowing smoke up your britches leg. Now some of them were made over seas and I have a hard time find out on them but most time I can even find them

Merc's you need the serial number but OMC you need the model number.

It's always possible that just because it was made in 84', it wasn't sold until 86'.

It still doesn't alter the fact that it's an 84' and will sell as an 84', OR, being that old, will sell for whatever the buyer will pay, depending on condition.

I gave him 700.00 for the motor. He had it on a pontoon and said he was the only owner and that it had low hours on it. I think it is going to be ok once I get thru rebuilding the carbs and water pump. Check my boat pictures under photos (Search 1975 Fabuglass) Im proud of the work I did on the boat and you will see why. I have before and after I rebuilt it photos. I gave 200.00 for the boat and have about 1500.00 in it now with the motor and all the repairs
