Guys, I obviously realize this isnt a catfish but I'd like to know what it is and figured one of you probably used one as bait at some point in time and might know...

I caught it out of flint creek in oklahoma off of a pinky sized crawdad. The picture is kinda bad but it had a bright orange dot right next to its eye and a sucker-style mouth. Any ideas? :confused2:

Creek Sucker is what we call them. Great flat head bait alive or great blue bait cut. You should be catching chubs in the same area. They will look like that except they will have a big mouth.

Commen red spot creek chub that there is a awsome bait in that size and bigger for flatheads and blues. Use em live for flats and live or dead and head hooked with 5 or 6 cross cuts for big channels and blues. Easy to catch should be more where ya got it. Just a worm and a lil hook and bobber or crappie jigs for em.

How would i hook this bad boy for a flathead? liphook? weightless? Trying to learn as much as I can here! Thanks guys, you are all awesome.

Tail hook like a minnow 3/4 way up the back or head hook in the upper mouth bringing thh hook point out one of the nostrils. You can fillet or chunk dead ones fo hooking
