I was once told you could tell the difference between a blue and channel cat by the pectoral fin. Is this true and what is the correct way to do it?

It's the anal fin... channels have a shorter and rounded shape anal fin with 24-29 rays while the blues have a distict longer flat outer edge tapering back with 30-35 rays.

Thanks Michael. I caught a nice cat the other night and thought it was a blue but I guess it's a channel.

Let me clarify. I can tell them apart but this fish looks like a blue, but it kinda looked like channel. Hybridized I like that.
