i was just wandering what size swivels everyone uses?
I use berkley McMAHON 1/0 or 2/0. most of the time unless I find some for a really good deal
i use size 5 billfisher swivels they test out at 75lbs and when i can find them spro power swivels in sizes 6, 4, and 2 that test out at 80lb,130lb, and 220lb respectively.
i use 150lb rosco brass swivels
I use no.3 or no. 5 rosco on rod and reel 1/0 or 2/0 on limb lines.
I use spro power swivels in a size 2 rated at 230 lb. test. The true test of a good swivel is will it freely rotate under a load. This is what is wrote about them on there web site
These Amazing Swivels Are Made Of High-Grade Stainless Steel With A Gunmetal Black Finish. They Offer Super Smooth Rotation And Unbelievable Strength And Durability. SPRO Power Swivels Are 1.5 Times Stronger Than Standard Barrel Swivels Despite Their Tiny Appearance. With Their Reduced Visibility, They Offer Very Little Water Resistance In Trolling And Are Superb For Finesse Type Fishing Where Stealth Is The Key. Excellent For Use In Rigs For Kingfish, Stripers, Bass, Salmon, And Many More.
wow i wasnt expecting so many different answers on this one, kind of surprising to me.
The SPRO swivels are definitely of a superior quality. I typically use the Sampo swivels rated @ 150 lbs. I haven't had a failure yet.......Knock on wood oooh:
i use the spro #2 3-way rated at 70# never broke one yet
