it depends on the bait size and other thing like fish size . use a hook just big enough to go over the jaw of the fish just me. what i was told by diiaiiachi.

Preferred choice is Daitchi Chunk lite size 7.0 or 5.0 in spring for Cut Shad....A buddy of mine caught 34 Flatheads this season and most were by accident. All caught were on cut shad with a Diatchi Chunk Lite size 5.0

It depends on what kind of bait I'm using. If I'm using a doughbait, I prefer using a #8 treble hook with spring. If I'm using live or cut bait, any mid size hook will do.

Thanks Everyone. Looking back I should have put in big baits for big blues and flatheads.
I have found some bigger hooks in the sickle hooks. But man there high ( over $1 each and that is buying in bulk). For the most part I like anywhere from a 5/0 to 7/0. And my 52 lb flathead came on a 3/0 .
I for the most part have a 7/0 on top and a stinger hook size 5/0 below that. And most come on the 5/0.
Thanks again guys and have a great day.

For big baits I go with a 10/0 kahle, for smaller baits I use 8/0 kahles and for Channel catfish I use 7/0 kahles.

I use 8.0 gamma for all catfish. I have caught everything from 1 lb to 80 plus lb on them.
