What size kahle hook would ya'll suggest for use with 5-6" bullhead as bait?
8/0 is what I use. Anything bigger than 8" I use a 10/0.
I definitely agree with a kahle for flatheads. With that size bait I would use a 7/0-8/0. Good fishing.
I use 8/0 gama circles for all my flathead fishing.
I caught this 10# male Saturday night on a 6" live green sunfish, Katbobber, Eagle Claw King Kahle 8/0. I watched him swim (bobber glow stick right under the surface) with the bait for probably 20' before I crossed his eyes.
The only 2 hooks I use now for flatheads is the ECKK8/0 and Gama OC8/0, doesn't mean they're the best, just what works for me.
a 9 ott
i use 10/0 for anything over 6 inches
10/0 seems to be popular, that,s my choice too.oooh:
oooh:oooh:oooh: same here 10/0 but not kahle gamaos
4/0 to 10/0 just depends on what I got and how hard the fish are hitting.
5/0 gamma circles for channels, 8/0 gamma circles for flathead, 10/0 kahles for big flathead baits
BB in SC
10/0 king kahel is a good hook for them bullheads any size bullhead really
I would use a 1/0 or 2/0 hook.
95160 Mustad 7/0 for baitfish.
I use 8/0 gama octo circle 4x strong for blues and flats.
for baits that size i use 10/0 kayles.
I like the gama Octo 4X 8/0 not gonna break that sucker!! or a 8/0 king kale. Picked up some of those King cat double action kale hooks in red 8/0 they seem pretty decent. But the Gama's seem to be the best bang for the buck.
