I use 3 different type of rigs. 1. A slip bobber rig 2. A Carolina rig 3. A modified drip rig. All have their use in different stuations.

Neither. On the Missouri River I use a double barrel swivel rig. Keeps the bait flapping off of the bottom, and keeps you from losing expensive hooks!

Carolina rig with a suitable size float pinned to the leader about 4 inches back from the hook.

I use the carolina rig. Without a float. Seems to work for me.

I generally tend to use the drop rig. Why? I don't know. partially because it is very similar to how my jugs are rigged up.

My rig is like George's, a Carolina rig with a small cork bobber on the leader 4 to 6 inches up from the hook.

Why? Because the last two blue cats I caught was on that rig. Before that I used a carolina rig with no bobber.

I liek the drop rig (3 way rig). I make them at different heights when tight lining to see how close to the bottom they are hitting. When I bank fish I use the carolina.

I use both of those rigs but mostly carolina rig. I sometimes fly-line (no weight, just hook with bait) too if there is no current.
