I think Feb, March and April is when the bite has increased for "Spring" and then agian October, November and December. But, like Charles said, they bite pretty good year round.

I usually catch them in early spring when the crappie start to spawn. Maybe early March. But that's just when I start fishing for them, so that's when I catch them. Also in July they seem to be all fired up when they come off the nest. Channels bite year 'round, but I think the hot times are in late winter/early spring and smack in the middle of summer.

Channel cats bite all year here in Ontario, Canada, however the best time to fish for them are in the spring & summer.

The bite is pretty good here right now, but it should only get better around mid Feb to early March.

The Channels here bite pretty much year-round, but alot better in the summer months. We do get some nice ones from "Late July" to "Late November".

In middle tn here, I usually catch my first cat of the year in May. This year I will try to catch one earlier. I am hoping to break almost all of my personal records this year including channel cat, largemouth & smallmouth bass, gar & drum. I also want to catch my first blue cat, buffalo, carp, and maybe a flathead. Right now I am getting ready to start catfishing in high gear in the next couple of months.
