I buy large unpeeled raw shrimp at Wallyworld - 60 to 80 in a package. Cost: about $7 - $8. I divide them into three zip lock bags:: bag 1 - leave it plain, bag 2 - add a little vanilla extract, bag 3 - add a little garlic powder. This way, the cats have a choice of baits. You can also buy the bait shrimp, but I don't like them as well as the above - a lot of bits and pieces too small to use.

    Good luck.

    Have a nice day.

I'd just peel the shell off of a crawdads tail if you got 'em. They're free, catfish love 'em and usually plentiful.

Yes what he says, I find most bait shrimp not fresh. It may seem like a lot to pay for bait but in the use of it you will see it is cheaper than nightcrawlers.

most of the time i'll take 3 to 4 dozen shrimp and put them in a bowl and add one small bottle and let it sit over night and the next day your good to go. i have also done it with cherry kool aid but the vanilla seems to work better.soaking chicken breast also works for me.

As far as shrimp goes I have used just about everything!

I recommend what they call 51-60. I have no clue what that means, but they have served me well.

I like the shells on as well they stay on the hook better!

Frozen shrimp is not nearly as good. It somehow looses it's smell and ultimately the fishes attention.

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ABOUT KEEPIG SHRIMP ON THE HOOK IN FAST MOVING WATER?
