I have used vegetable oil, corn oil, cranola oil and peanut oil. This year I started using cotton seed oil and it has made me a believer.I notice with it there is no oily taste.I have used it with fish and deer steak and it has worked great. What oil do you use?

I usually use canola oil. Try to keep it as healthy as I can. When I have travelled in asia they fry a lot of stuff in palm oil...that stuff will stop your heart.

Olive oil, any grade. I love the stuff, and it's good for ya! I will admit you will have to get used to the taste, but once you do you will never go back.:smile2:

I prefer peanut oil for deep fry. I know it is expensive, but it is better for you.

I've read alot of stuff saying how good olive oil is for you.

    Here's one of them.

    It's pretty tasty too!

I like to add a spoonful to alot of different foods for flavor.

I normally use Peanut Oil for cooking fish. I think I'll look into the cotton seed oil and do a little reasearch. Sounds like it would be worth giving a try.

I don't use any cooking oil.

But I eat the fish that my wife cooks in peanut oil.

I used to use peanut oil for deep frying but I found cottonseed oil to be the best. I use it for cooking my turkey's at Thanksgiving and it leaves no bad after tastes either, I pay a little more for it but it's worth it.

For regular cooking (not deep frying), I use olive oil. I've even got the grandkids where they prefer their grilled cheese sandwiches be made with olive oil in place of butter. I even like it poured over my sardines, then soak it up with a chunk of bread; add cheese and you have a gourmet meal.

Oh! The lies in many modern cookbooks. To be "Old Fashioned Southern Fried",it has to be done with lard. The same with a Biscuit.Nothing else can taste the same.Unfortunately most think that "breast" in "Gone With the Wind"was done in Crisco oil. From what I have seen on here,I think most of the oil is used for boiling a certain few, such as "poor ol mellon."peewee-williams.

    I prefer lard.

But I don't use it for health reasons, use canola oil instead. I also like cottonseed or peanut oil.
