    Looks like a Snipe to me. I know a lot of people that have hunted them, but your the first that I know of that has ever found one, let alone got a picture! lol :eek:oooh: :lol:

    I don't remember seeing one before, Thanks Dink. You know I think you can still hunt them with a burlap bag and a flash light though.

    looks like its a "sorra" bird. yup, i thought it was a snipe too:roll_eyes:. many a nights trying to catch one of those elusive critters:embarassed:

    Lol, looks kinda like the type a bird that gots feathers, bill, two feet, runs, jumps and/or flys!!! lol...sry had to do it... Pretty lookin bird there!

    Sora rails are considered game birds in New Mexico,The are managed as migratory birds like ducks.

    Ive tried them baked, broiled , roasted , fried, bogged down in rice, smothered in gravy and they still taste like the marsh mud they live in........not worth the time or effort for the table.
