I like my Abu's. It would be between the 5500 C4 winch (4 bearing/low gear ratio) or the TCR 6500 (4 bearing/medium gear ratio) depending on size and line capacity. Both are very solid strong smooth reels.

IMHO, there's a big difference between these two reels and the regular old 5500 or 6500 C3's.

My favorite are St. Croix Avid baitcaster or the Penn International I have. Both are top of the line reels. I love reeling big cats with those reels.

Depend on what I'm fishing for. For all around catfishing I like the ABU 7000C3. If for Bass Fishing I like the Diawa Equipment. Hope this helps.

I like Abu's, but I've never used anything else so my opinion doesn't mean much here

After all the reels and brands I've got and tried over the years, It's hard to narrow it down. However, I've got a favorite for different types of fishing.
    Bass- Abu Garcia 4600C4
    Trout- Abu Garcia Cardinal 101
Catfish-Old double knob 6500C(Rebuilt with new plates, handle, and ceramic bearings) Casts a mile and sooooo SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTH!

ABU 6000, 6500 and 7000 for Catfish. I like the smaller Abu's like the 4500 for Bass fishing.
