What is this?

    I have heard Goldeye, Mooneye, shiner and others. Can anyone identify this fish for sure? Largest one I have found is around 6 inches long and quite fat. They have a golden shiny sides, dorsal fin is back, above the annal fin. Mouth is NOT carp like.

    Thats a shad or a minnow.

    im not any help because i have no idea what it is.it looks like a minnow that you would get a bait shop but fatter

    GOLDEN SHINERS!!!! very good bait. i have a few dozen frozen for cats and northerns maybe some bowfin

    Those are some golden shiners. Very good catfish bait. You should hold on to those.

    Alright, looks like I have my answer. Thanks all for helping. Thanks Matt for the Pic, thats the closest I have seen.
    I have found a pond that is full of them. Now, I guess I better keep the location hidden, LOL.
