What is this? Help from folks in the know please?

    I would think you tie your trout line to the trolly. The is put on a line already in the water and anchored or tied across a stream or inlet. the trolly carries your line along heavier line and out to the water. That way you can stay in one place to fish your lines from shore or whereever.I don't know for sure but thats my thoughts.

    Well there is the way to trotline from the bank.

    We use those type of sinkers in Destin while surf fishing so I guess it is for saltwater use.

    That would work well to tie the line high and let your trotline out then let it down.

    Good product.

    I have used one before my grandfather showed me and Catseeman hit it on the head. This way you can run your lines from shore with out having to always move or try to hole the light in the boat and deal with a fish at the same time. Some of the old timmers where I lived as a kid would use them when trout lining by them selfs as it made it easy for them.
