What is this caught on Lake Wylie in a cast net

    It's not a shad, but what is it? We think it's a herring, but never caught any in Lake Wylie before, we also caught one a couple weeks ago but it fell out of the net before we could look at it better.

    They aren't BlueBacks but some type of minnow. We have billions of them on Hartwell and they eat anything and everything. Billions of them thing will eat your bait up like little piranhas. They school up close to shore and are mistake for schooling threadfins a lot.

    Ive only caught a few small stripers on them...never got a cat using them. You can get them in a minnow net with bread really easy.
