Looks like a blue to me but hard to tell since ya got the anal fin crushed the way your holding it. Next time count the rays in the anal fin.. channel cat usually has 28 to 30 and a blue will have around 35 if I remember correctly.

I agree, looks like a blue. But without seeing that anal fin it could be a mystery.

By the way it's body looks it's got to be a blue. it does have a funny looking head tho. I've seen alot of blues. They come in every shap and size big head small body, big body small head, long and skinny, short and fat.

from the body I'd say a blue but can't really tell since your hand is over the anal fin. it's head does look like a male channel

Dang-it Jake...get it in your head that no-one can tell what it is for sure unless you count the rays. I keep seeing you ask this same question and you will keep getting the same answers.

To me it looks like a blue... But that is a "GUESS". You say you've never seen one like that but yet you have only caught a few your whole life.

I noticed on your other threads and IMO you are wanting this fish to be a hybrid Cat so bad that you will keep posting it until someone agrees with you.

Buddy...I like ya bro....but your better off directing your attention towards getting that Pb blue you been wanting....Dont waist your time fishing your pond looking for that fish to ID it ; )

Sorry for the tough love bro...but someone needed to do it ; )

You Can always google catfish Identification. After learning how you'll be able to ID then on the spot!
What kinda cat was it? A nice catfish. Congrats!

Best time to put blues in your pond and assure they live-is cold weather/water.
Catch them in warm water from a pond, they will die within 24 hrs almost every time from lactosis. (I think its called)

    Nice fish!
