What is the bite like - hard, med, light?

    This time of year - late fall and winter - what do the cats bite like, in a creek or river? If they usually bite real soft, that is why I haven't caught any in over a month. Whats your thoughts on this?

    I think u can catch them, on the same baits u been using.

    Maybe they migrated to the deeper body of water at the end of the creek.?

    I agree with kat in the hat, they probably moved up or downstream to some deeper water as they do in the bigger rivers to. As the water gets colder I'll be fishin in the deeper holes myself.

    I fish the Potomac River just South of DC. We're still getting real good fish both in numbers and size. Last weekend they were hitting "short" and I rigged stingers, a trebel hook about 3 inches below my large circle hook and took two of the five fish that way.
