Ma has really liked useing a zebco 404 when we got it out for bait. She can cast it better than the open faced spinners she now uses for channels. Would like to get her a pair of zebco 888s for xmas. Would like to put them on new rods also.

Which should I order, spinner or caster rods?

Thanks all

That is what was thinking.

Was thinking the BNM silvercat. 7ft. That is a medium rod.

Good to hear from you Capt Brad. We did not get up there this year. We did get a few 10 to 15 lbrs from Missouri this year. All cpr. Local rivers were either to low, Big Sioux. To very high, James. For flats.

I had to go look uo the Zebco 404. It a closed face casting reel and rods are/were made just for them. The have the shorter handle and it come's away from the reel in a down angle. Seem I remember that was made that was to work better with close face casting reel to accomodate the user's thumb. Same thing on a reg casting reel take's the thumb out of position.

Went with BNM 7ft 2 piece medium. Casting with trigger.

They came today. Now gotta wrap it. At least they sent them in one box. Will open box to check goods before wrapping.
