I had a fellow give me some of his secret brew a couple years ago that worked great on blue cats. It was cow's blood and garlic mixture. I cut bream and crappie up and would soak the cut bait in this mixture and the blues loved it. I did better just after a big rain when the water was muddy, fishing flats 3 to 5 feet deep. They hit it alot better than fresh shad, I guess they could smell it better.

I went to Bass Pro shops yesterday and bought some Crappie Berkley scent, will give it a try on my cut bait, I know the crappie fishermen catch cats on their crappie jugs when they use it.

I am after Blue Cats only, what has worked for you?

Try adding "REAL" anise oil to that mixture, just don't get it on anything you don't want to smell like licorice for a couple of weeks. Good Luck in the new season.
