I have seen some postings inquiring about Coralville Reservoir. It may not be much, but what I know about the area is.......Shad have been plentiful in the area below the dam. Alot of guys net them from their boats. As such, Shad is a very good bait for Coralville Cat. Fishing from the shoreline around Mahaffe Bridge has been productive. My last outing there I was able to land a couple 3-4 pounders and one nice 8+ pounder. I was using Shrimp adjacent to the "no wake zone". Was approx 45 min or so between hits, but when they did, they were not fooling around. Mrs latched on to something that kept her rod bent and took out more line than she could real in. Lost it after about 10 minutes of working. So they ARE out there.
