what hooks

    do treble hooks work good for night crawlers i see everbody
    saying liver and dough bait work good on trebles but i am
    going to be fishing with night crawlers fishing for 1.5to8lb
    channels will trebles work good or should i use a reg.
    j or circle hook all opinions wanted please reply

    circle hooks are the way to go .. when a fish is hooked they are almost always hung in the corner of the lip . trebles on the other hand are impossible to get out of a catfish . if you plan on keeping everyyhing you catch go with a 4/0 or bigger treble . that way you dont catch any babies . but make sure you have plenty hooks because you are going to have to cut your line almost every time you catch one.

    I realy like tru turn hooks. A j hook with barbs would hold a worm better.

    i use no 8 treble hooks for crawlers they keep the channels honest also works good for chicken liver :smile2:

    id go with the j or circle for crawlers,i dont think treble hooks work well with those.I dont care much for tru turn hooks myself i tend to miss to many fish with them but i guess it could just be me and how i set the hook,but i dont like them.

    If you are going to keep them, 2/0 - 4/0 baitholder hooks. If not, then set the hook quicker!
