It's been over ten years since I visited this forum. You guys helped me learn how to fish. I even met up in person and fished with one of you. Anyway life happened and I been gone awhile and I come back and this place and find a ghost town.
Is it cuz boat ramps and banks started getting busy and we don't wanna advertise? I don't mind either way. Anyhow, I'm loading up my boat with a couple buddies and going to one of my old stomping grounds on the skook.. first time in nearly a decade.
Anyone out there reading this? Is there still a community here is is it best to let sleeping dogs lie...
Hi Andrew, I wasn't on here 10 years ago so I don't recall what it was like. Things have changed as you can see, but I think you will like it. Many fisherman from the Pennsylvannia area on here. They should show up soon.
In the meantime, welcome back!
Facebook took so many people away. However there's still lots of awesome folks to share with and learn from. Just a lot less activity but still enough with everyone still living their lives. Welcome back, Hope you post an awesome trip result with your buddies. Tight lines
Glad to hear there's still community here. Even if the PA boards seem a little quiet, i think I'll enjoy posting fishing reports and reading about what's working for others. Thanks for responding!
Well welcome back. I don't know why things change and become less popular but from drive in theaters to miniature golf courses and forums they do. I still enjoy the USCA and encourage folks to participate, I have learned a lot here and hopefully helped someone else learn a little.
I’ve been here a long time and yes, it has definitely changed but there is still a strong core of old and new.
It’s hilarious to hear you say you’ve not been on here for ten years and then say how quiet it is…. no irony there at all!!!!
I’m glad you’re able to get back into your fishing and look forward to reading some reports of success.
Be safe out there and catch a biggun.
Hey Andrew, there is a couple of us from PA that post. I try to keep the suskie reports alive, I just haven't gotten the chance to get out much yet this year.
I just got my tail absolutely whipped by the covid, so I'm hoping in another week or so that I will be back in the game. Hope to post a 50 this year!
Most definitely agree with the above posts.
I ditched FB 15 years ago.
I didn't like how, if I was "friended" with someone, it seemed that every post from everyone who was connected through friends would show up when I logged on, whether I knew the person or not.
It made no sense.
So, catfish1 is the sum-total of my online message activity.
I to was on 0 years ago as Lance a divorce and move back to WV and back on ..I see some old school names I remember ..and new if its catfishing this is the spot lol...Ironically my profile pic is from the Mon...in Motown not to far across the border so tight lines from WV!
It’s definitely social media. I’m definitely old school in some areas of this. Also I love this forum been here since late 2008 I think. I’ve learned a lot from here over the years and I depend on you guys so much to learn from. To be honest it’s shameful but if things are like they were back when I joined in 2008 if it were 2022 I don’t know if I would have thought up to search again for it. I love this place and it’s really taught me a lot and I hope it’s around forever and I encourage every catfisherman to join.

been here awhile but dont post much. this is still my go-to for catfishing, even though my actual fishing has been lacking.
I look forward to the emails from the site, and is how I saw this thread.

I've been on this forum for a few years and not only have I learned a lot, but we seemed to go through a string of deaths of fishing buddies and everyone has been very supportive. Where in PA are you fishing? Mostly channel cats?
Ive noticed a very significant decline in activity as well. Got pretty caught up in bass fishing the past few years so i been away also. Looking to get back to more catfishing again.
I'm still here.. Been here since those days.. Miss it.. I still go pretty hard for flats.. Me And the few guys I fish with have a few over 20 this year And multiple teens..
Not really sure what happened to this place since back then but I know a lot of guys are still fishing..
