I'm addicted to pancakes, John too. We actually just had them for dinner the other night. But I'm one of those weird picky eaters...I only put a little butter on mine and that's it. He does the whole syrup thing or honey if there's no syrup in the house.

Depends on who makes them & what they are made with.... If Cleve makes them with Aunt Jemima complete mix, I don't put anything on them! They are so good & buttery already, they don'y need anything!
If someone else makes them, then it's usually just butter.

My buddy and I boiled down sap this year and socked away 21 gallons of pure michigan maple syrup. After the gifts and sales we now have 2 quarts left. lol. Maple Syrup is all that goes ON pancakes.

IN pancakes however, I came up with a new idea last weekend and it ABSOLUTELY ROCKED MY PANCAKE WORLD....

I had a box of mrs butterworths buttermilk complete pancakes.... and I hate working out of a prepped box of "stuff", so instead of adding water I added 3/4 buttermilk and 1/2 water.... yes that adds up to 125%, but the buttermilk needs a lil extra water to keep it thin enough so your pancakes arent an inch thick each. when ya mix em, leave a few lumps- if you overmix them they deflate.ANYHOW... from there I added fresh blueberries and 2 tsp of Cognac. Good Cognac. Corovosier, baybee.
I fried it at medium in real butter.

I tells ya it was the best pancake breakfast I ever had. I recommend cognac as a flavoring for the batter without a doubt.

And I used to work at a Dennys.... I know pancakes inside and out. lol

    Trust me and try it.

    syrup is best ON pancakes

However, I'm like sal, I like something ODD in my pancakes.

When makeing them, a lot of times I will use pineapple juice instead of water and add chopped pecans.

    the flavor is AMAZING.
