I would have to pass on the turnip greens, but the rest sounds mighty good.

My favorite is BBQ BRISKET, my way.
I just can't resist that brisket when it's falling apart trying to pick it up.
Along with my wifes potato salad and corn on the cob and mashed tatters and Johnny cakes (sweet cornbread) for some that don't know what Johnny cakes are.
Afterward for dessert I'll make homemade ice cream with strawberries and chocolate syrup.....mmmmm good.

We grow the majority of what we eat, big garden, 3 big freezers and lots of canning, have our own beef and pork butchered, add in a few river caught catfish and crappie and a couple of deer in the fall for variety and you just about got our menu. Any meal will be great if it'a centered around a big hunk of meat.

Now that's what I call first class eating!
I don't have enough time to list what I like, might be easier to list what I don't like.. but right now I can't think of anything to put on that list!

Wife and I are going to eat steak at Outback and that sounds pretty good.

Heck, after the fine quisine(?) of eating MREs, I can eat just about anything:big_smile: ! Dont get me wrong, MREs have come along way...but after eating field rations, my wife could cook up our rottweiler and I would probably enjoy it until I found out what it was:big_smile:  !

I think it's better when it isn't store bought and all the proteins and minerals washed out of it.

I just so happened to have a juicy steak stir-fry sitting in front of me right now. When I'm done, i'm gonna go catch me some bait so my next meal can be even juicier fillets of catfish.:dribble:

man you really know how to make a guy feel homesick. I was born and raised around Ft. Worth and I miss the BEEF bar-b-que. Around here all the craze is pork with mustard base are vinegar base sauce. When I do fire up my homemade barrel smoker the neighbors come running.
