Do you guys eat em? Release them? Use them for bait? Make them into fertilizer, or feed them to the hogs?

Smal, ones get tossed back because you don't get much meat from them.
The bigger ones, I'll keep and eat them if I feel like cleaning them.

I release all of the Carp that I catch by choice. This being said, if someone request that I bring them one. I will consider a smaller fish or an injured fish for this purpose. I try not to injure any of the fish that I plan to release with the leader or hooks that are too large. Additionally, I use a hook tied with a Hair rig to lessen the possibility of fish getting the hook down too deep. Therefore the Catch & Release is done more often. JMHO and what I DO!

I wouldn't eat any either. i just wanted to get input from you guys. I got some crap from some carp fisherman because I used the little ones as flathead baits.

Also, I want to get into bowfishing too.

Thanks for all your replies guys!

Lol i agree people do take them home though. I see it all the time and when i ask they usually say the plan to eat them. I release them hopefully to catch another day or for someone else to catch.

This is how I use them. I have never eaten one so don't know how they taste.

Definably cut bait. Shuck the scales, fillet, leave skin on, cut in small pieces,
put in ziplock bags with salt. Freeze Hard to beat

I've cleaned and eaten several, they're barely ok in my book, smaller ones are best, never tried any smoked though.

Now buffalo suckers are a different matter, my whole family loves them, they're delicious. See photo of a couple days catch from this June on my trotline.
