What depth

    i was wondering what depth should i fish live gills and if it matters how do i controll the depth????

    it really depends on the depth of the water your fishing ,when i use a slip bobber ,i set the depth about 2 to 3 feet deep that way the live bait can swim and isnt on the bottom. hope this helps you some. good luck

    You did not say what fish you are targeting . For channels I start with the bait just under the surface and work down until I find where they are feeding. For Flatheads I set the bait at mid depth.

    you would control the depth with a slip bober.

    I fish live gills on a carolina rig with a long leader, about 3-4 foot I know it sounds strange but it has produced for me. I do use a slip bobber too but prefer the carolina rig.
