I've been using shad guts and cut chubs is there something else I should be trying?
Welcome to the BOC! Try using shad sides or nightcrawlers after a rain. With warm weather approaching the bite will pick up and there will be more options. Stay on them and keep trying different baits. They can be real picky sometimes.
The most often mentioned bait for this time period is shad guts. Nothin wrong
with your choices at all. This is just a frustrating time of year. Persevere!
this time of year on the kaw the water will be dirty and silty from riseing water.for best action(at least near me) i would head to the mouth of any creek the hooks the kaw or small river for that matter fish will be stacked up there for the better water
your choice of bait is fine in a few more weeks you will stack up channels like cord wood on shad or shad guts
try using shrimp when i target channels this time of year thats what i use
I would try using some small bluegill
