What animal does this belong to

    i was walkin through the woods today to go fishing and came across this skull. im not sure wat animal it belongs to but i think its a coon. anybody have any ideas?

    ? Where did you acquire the skull? What area of country/world? If we knew who you were or where you live, it may help. It doesn't appear to have the teeth of a predator, more like a rodent, maybe? Kinda reminds me of a bison or sheep, where the horn curls over the eyes. How large is the skull?

    I think your right definately a rodent of some sort, doesn't appear to be a young deer.

    How about the bones around the eye socket, are they broken, or incomplete?
    A raccoon had incisors and canines in the front of the mouth, don't they? It appears to have a relatively large airway opening in the front.

    the eye socked is cracked on the right. it looks like it had cainines at one time but they were not in the skull when i found it. it just had the 4 back teeth shown

    That is a tough one to tell but i think it might be a deer skull

    I went back and looked at the rest of the photos, and I think I am inclined to agree that it is a 'coon, probably a young one, because the bone around the eyesockets don't appear to be completely developed. I can see where the rest of the teeth are in the last photos.
