I just found this site and I have been soaking up the info. Thanks!
I have kayaked 100 miles on the east and west forks of the white river but I have just started fishing. This site is really helping me get going.

    Bob,
Welcome to th BOC. With that much time on the White you should know some excellent catfish territory. Put that together with what you read on here and go get 'em ...W

    Bob,
As a rule the best places are the ones that look like they would be the hardest to fish. Rocky, woody snags in or adjacent to deeper water are prime. Outside bends with cutbanks and timber are also high on the list. At night the shallow sandy area on the inside of the bends are good places to set baits.
There is lots of info in the library here. Also, In-fisherman put out a book several years ago called Channel Catfish Fever. It is an excellent book to get started with. It describes good habitat and how to recognize it in detail along with all kinds of other useful info.
The White has some really good catfishing. Channels and flatheads are plentiful and there are some good blues in the lower White especially the main stem that flows into the Wabash...W

Thanks for the welcomes. Catfishermen-ladies are sure nice people.

I will try your advice next time I am out Metalman. So far I catch little cats and drums.
