The water level on West Point has come up over 5 feet and it is now possible to go up the river, however, it is still very hazardous because the sandbars and stumps that were visible are now just under the surface. If you go upriver use extreme caution and wear your life jacket! If you get stuck in the muck DO NOT get out of your boat without a life jacket on! Its like quicksand. We caught two small Flatheads yesterday on cut bait. One 10 and one about 15 lbs. The water temp. is 50 degrees.
