Which river you fishin? I fish the Guad and had luck on the deep side of hard bends in the river. Also of coarse on the downstream side of a big obstruction like a tree limb or even better a rock outcropping..

    Near big undercuts.

If your leaving them over night. During summer you should do well on shallow flat near deep pools.

    Mouth of creek drainages.

    goodluck

Getting up in the coves would be good for limblines , and at the mouth of the coves would work for jugs .

Follow the food source. (Bait fish) Fish shallow late at night.(Coves etc), fish outside bends an deeper water in the day.
