Yesterday I fished the flood waters in the town below mine. Caught four fish in about an hour. After I caught my fourth one I gave up cuz I had ice forming on my fingertips. It was some crazy cold I had to deal with, but I guess I had fun. The biggest one I caught was 6.4lbs.

Good to hear you caught something. It's hardly hit double digits here the last two days.

I haven't been on the water since mid November. :sad2:

    Geeze

You guys that live near the equator.
Wind chill was -18 here yesterday.
Everything has 3/4 inches of ice. The roads are nearly impassable. It took me 15 minutes to just get up a hill near here and we have 4 to 8 inches of snow forecasted for tonight.

    Have a good one

I can't even get out to goose little lone fish. It was 1.3 deg when I got up today! Toped out at 16 with 15-20 mph winds.

Good stuff bro! I was thinking about using an old ground blind to sit in and keep the wind off me when I went out in the winter.

At least you didn't have much fishing pressure from other anglers and fresh catfish in the winter sounds way good. Great christmas dinner.

I'm waitin for the ice to get thick enough, then I'm going ice fishing and taking one of my blinds. we'll tough it out till we locate fish then put the blind up over a couple holes. I even figured a way to keep it anchored down. Use a propane torch to heat short stakes and drive them down at an angle. a comfy seat, a rubber mat for your feet, and a heater. you're set! you can stay warm in below zero temps in a blind with the windows closed and heat. Hunting season is officially over today for me. I didn't go and now I'm already gettin cabin fever. I'm already going through tackle and getting ready.

It doesn't happen very often but it was -24 here in SE Iowa this morning.
Somewhere in west central Illinois had -36.
Heat wave on the way though.
Ought to be above freezing by mid week.
    have a good one
