Went fishing yesterday

    Whent fishing yesterday had a bad day lol.
    I had a about 15 nice size fish and when i looked down the fish stringer
    was gone. I did not find it so i started all over again. I left whit about 8 fish my friend let whit about 20 or 25

    you've got to let me in on the secret. every time you post it has to do with you catching 10+ fish in an outing?!?!? what am i doing wrong? i'll maybe catch 3 and call it a good day. where are you fishing, what bait, what time of the day...etc???

    i fish at hartwell lake and some ponds this time i was at hartwell ,
    my bait was Blueback-Herring, red worms , chicken liver what i dont get is why the little one are hitting Blueback-Herring and not chicken liver lol
    time of day 5:00 in the morning to 12:00 at night.


    does any body now why the little catfish are hitting Blueback-Herring this time of year little is 3 pounds to 5 pounds

    My guess is that their hungry and feeding off the winter kill.

    I had something similar happen when i had a stringer of crappies swim off. Now I tie it off to my belt or something heavy like a tree.

    my secret is i buy about four or five cans of dog food and put a lot of smalls hole in it and tie a string or small rope around the can and something to hold it down for the water current won't sweep it down the lake

    i do this a day or two before i go i dont know why this works but it does

    Congrads on all the fish I have heard that dog food work well I am still have not try I will try it this year
