    OK HERE IT GOES....

ok i went out about 8:00-8:30
through out some Bee Jay channel cat bait got one good pull but no hook up so i decided to go with live bait and i went fishing for gills to use for bait and i cought a small one like 3 inches long and put that on the hook and threw it out there and then i went and cought another one and threw that one out and this one was about 4-5 inches long

so i waited and waited and no bites so i pulled up my first pole(which it is almost dark) and i threw it out and WHAM A BIRD NEST I WAS SOOO MAD CAUSE the pole had 50lb power pro on it so i was like well shoot guessi need to try and get this out so i took the gill (still hooked) and threw it out there about 5 feet from the shore line and a big ole SPLASH happened about 6 ft from shore and i though ohh CRAP man this line is birdnested sorta bad and if i catcha fish i hope he aint a big one(but DEEP DEEP DEEP in my mind i was thinkin COMMON BIG GUY TAKE THE BAIT JUST HIT IT) and lone behold wham i got a bite 5 ft from shore! i was like AWESOME he fought GREAT and it was a 10-15lb Flathead cought on a 3 inch gill...

so after i got the hook out of this one i started reeling my other pole in (which had the 4-5 inch gill) and WHAM i had a bit of a bite so i let it sit and WHAM i SET THE HOOK and the fight was ON and it was FUN it weighed about the same as the other and i just love catchin them flatties there a blast....

BUT I AM NEVER GOING TO USE CIRCLE HOOKS AGAIN
that first fish i cought was on a circle hook and it was in its eye

    THE 3RD TIME
I AM REALLY MAD SO I DECIDED TO NEVER USE THEM AGAIN
im just gonna stick with oshaugnessy and im gonna try kahle style which sounds promissing

so heres my fishing story for tonite hope u liked it

but its a blast and both the fish were cought within 10 min of eachother and it was Almost dark....

i think thats it but it seems like im forgetting somethin

    ENJOY

    Jeff

Sounds like you had a pretty dang good night. Nice story. I'll probably start fishin' a little closer to the bank for them flatties if I don't get any bites from now on. Kinda glad ya got that birdnest. lol.

yeah i reckon i am lol

    but it was fun

    the skeeters,
the WET(from the fish splashing me)
    and a few other things

BUT IT IS ALL WORTH IT
    NO DOUBT

yeah i kinda had to tighten the drag a bit lol cause i didnt want the fish to strip the line down to it cause that would have been BAD lol

    ITS ALL GOOD

but im not jokin though lol

i mean there ways a little weed line about 4-5 feet out from the bank and it was RIGHT out off of that

well i got the first hit a bit deeper(about 6-8) feet out but i pulled it in a bit to about 6 ft and WHAM it took it

OH i dont know if this matters but i was fishing a pond.... tryin for a 50lb flattie that lurks in there :)

ponds proally less than a acre

its great though all thats in there are GILLS AND CATFISH...WHAT BETTER :)

thanks for the story i was fishing right along with you. I had a bad backlash once about the way it happened to you. a10lb channel hit and ran it pulled the backlah out of the reel. I figured it would have broken the line or pole. I got lucky i guess.

    yeah but so far

3 fish hooked in the eye is 3 TOO MANY!!!!

but j hooks would proally have a less chance of doing it like circles cause man i HATE it when i wound a magnificient animal like the catfish...

    specially a biggun

just the way i am lol

    Sounds like a good trip.

I had a tangle in my line the other day and of course when I got the tangle, that's when the bite came, he was biting my line and it was wrapped around everything, man I was calling it all sorts of names....like dirty son of a ***** and you stupid *********.......LOL!
