I like fishing in the rain. I move to the swallow areas and drift and pick up lots of eaters(1-3 lbs.). I use cut bait, shad, chubs and bluegills on a circle hook.

I keep rain gear in my boat at all times. In fact, I fished in a brief rain shower this morning. I get completely off of the water if there is lightning and thunder.

Rain fishing is great. I had one of my better couple of days last week. It was rainy to beat heck, I spent more time baiting hooks than sitting down. My only gripe is that the water raised about 2 feet in 2 hours kept having to move my poles up the bank every 5 minutes.

Shore fishing is great in the rain, channels move into shallow water to feed on worms and anything else that a good hard rain might wash in. I remember last year while trout fishing in a heavy rainstorm, we started picking up channels on powerbait, so after limiting on trout, we walked back up to the bait store bought some mackeral, and ended up catching cats for the rest of the day.
