Gee you guys are friendly, not like some of the english forums,

yes we caught a few big ones this year and I cant wait to start next season.

Ive broken a few rods and ruined the gears on the penn 330's Ive been using.

I shall put up some pics in the gallery at some point this evening.

I have learned so much these last two years fishing for the wels, I dont use leads and use pellets as bait. I have goved 235 catfish this year from July to Late October on the River Ebro in Spain

    • 149 over 100lb
    • 72 over 150lb
    • 38 over 175lb
    • 2 over 200lb
    • Biggest Catfish 212lb
    • Total weight 31,473lb

I love my carp fishing as well and have been looking at the carp fishing in the US. Im gonna save an air fare and do a week or two.

Stephen, judging by the catches you have made, there's nothing I can teach you about catfishing, so I will be looking forward to learning something from you, friend. We would love to see some of those photos, when you get a chance to post them.
Welcome to the BOC. There are indeed lots of nice people here, and I think you will enjoy your visits to the forum.

No probs, I will try fathom it out eventually, I cant see create gallery, or is it in my personal folder where i update profile?

I will set up a wels thread as well so as you can start using what ive found most sucessful, touch wood you will start to catch lots of big moggies

Do you have any wels in USA? The land mass and natural food would produce a record or two

Thanks blackwater catz, im still learning, I shall put up a post on wels cats, as for burning the gears out, when we fish into dark I wedge a glow stick in the top eye of the rod, when the cat takes the bait and hooks itself the braid burns through the stick on inital run to form what we call tracer fire, it spits illuminous lengths out into the river, truley awesome.

Here are some Wels Catfish Pictures
