Brothers and Sisters, I finally did it. I walked out of my job on Wednesday. I was tired of the office politics, lack of job security and the thought of them always telling us they could fire us in the snap of a finger.

I stayed most of the day, realized I couldn't do it, typed up a letter of resignation, got escorted out and went home and had a beer to think about what the heck just happened.

Thursday mornin' I decided I needed to come home for awhile and regroup. Coincidently I got a call from a company and have an interview on Monday...

I am at my families place, and for those of you know know me, know how great it is to finally be home... There is a lot of ends to be tied up here and there and everywhere, but I think I have taken a huge step in the direction of home (Iowa).

If you could keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I transition to whereever it is I am going I would greatly appreciate it. I know I have a lot of miles to travel in the next few weeks... A little guidance could never hurt...

    Thanks everyone in advance!

    Tight lines,

    Chris

Hats off to you brother. It takes a lot of nerve nowdays to walk off a job without one waiting.I salute you for having the nerve.I'd say your headed in the right step towards home what with an interview and all.I'm not gonna tell you good luck, cause I've always been told that when you tell someone that your same as saying they can't do it without alot of luck. You've already showed you've got the nerve to do it so just go for it.
Will keep you in our prayers and let us know how the interview goes.
    GOD BLESS and PRAYERS SAID!!

It sounds like you put a lot of thought into your decision. I don't think I would have that much courage. Good luck with the interview.

Christopher, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I too am in the "been there done that club". I'm into my fourth week with a new company. I didn't like the direction my old shop was going subbing my work out of the country. I got a call from my old boss who left the same company I did a few weeks before. He asked me what it would take and I told him. well, I got the call before I even made it home. It wasn't easy handing my resignation in either. I just hope it works out.
    Good luck to you.

Congrates on the move at work. If you feel good about it then you did the right thing. Good luck with the job hunt and if you end up here in Iowa maybe we can hit the water together some time.

I did the same thing last year. I am so glad I did. I was to the point where I got kind of a knot in my stomach every morning I pulled in the lot. Finally told em to take this job and shove it. I am happy now.

Good for you! I was not that smart. I thought I would retire from the company I used to work for. Then I get a call to come to the office due to cut backs I lost my job:sad2: . Man that was tuff to take just having a baby. Now I am my own boss. Keep true to your heart.
