I have fished for catfish with a variety of baits with sucess. I know they like variety and you can catch cathfish on almost anything butcatching alot of fish depends on finding that right bait. I never had to much luck on stink baits but i know some people have caught there share of eaters on it. My question is what baits do you have on hand for catfishing? Personally i bring a castnet for shad a ultralight pole for gills and worms for nostolgia!

    Raw Shrimp
    Night Crawlers
    Cut Shad
    Cut Bluegill
    I catch fresh BG
    I throw (well I call it that - I'm a beginner:crazy: ) a net for fresh shad

Catch my bigger cats on the shad and BG - most on shrimp.

All I take is a net for catfish bait.

If I can't get shad I can get some sort of "bream".

Failing that... I'll pull out one of the smaller rods with a tiny roostertail and catch (or locate) some bream with that. If they are too small to take the roostertail, out comes the net for targetted throwing.

I do take some corn flavored dough bait for carp though.
