I haven't fished that area, but would try it if you have some tips. I live in Parker and just haven't fished the area. I have driven through heading to the Poudre Canyon.

Try Dixon or Wellington #4 in the Fort C area. We've been making good catches at Dixon this past month. Average around 5 to 8 pounds. Seems like Beef liver is the best producer with mussels a close second there. Mussels and shrimp at #4. A 28# cat was caught at #4 recently but it was caught by a guy trolling a Rapala. Duane at Betty's Bait and Tackle caught a 18# fish there as well. We fish it three or four times a week. Drop out some night and look for the big "box Ford" usually down by the dam.

I know of a couple good spots in Boulder County in Longmont. Longmont is about 20 miles west of Firestone, if you know where that is. Golden Ponds produces some fairly large catfish, but its artificial flies and lures only. McCalls lake is a pretty good one for small to average sized cats. I've caught anywhere from half a pound to ten pound catfish in there. Bait IS legal, but im not sure they let you fish it at night anymore. Union Resivior on County Line Rd produces catfish in the 10-20 pound range and night fishing is legal. You won't have much luck without a boat though. There is a fee to enter the park, but a year long membership is fairly inexpensive.

What bass tourneys have you heard about? I mostly target largemouths. I usually go bass fishing 2-3 days a week. I would really love to enter a tournament and see how i do.
