I made several noodle jugs this winter and decided to try weighted ones.
I've made one and I'm a little concerned about the loud click sound the rerod makes when it hits the end cap.
Thats pretty loud I'm thinkin. That sound has to be transmitted to the hook. Won't that scare fish?

    have a good one

You can put a piece of foam pipe insulation in it it will help to buffer it some

What causes the rebar to slid is the fish already being hooked and fighting the float. The noodles I made are 4 to 5 inches in dia. and as long as a two liter. Therefore he will be well hooked before he flags the noodle.

Guess I didn't think the weighted thing over well enough before I posted.
I need to start with the weight at the top end when its horizontal in the water.
I did think it slid a little too quick when I placed it in the middle of the pipe.
    Thanks for the replys.
