I talked to 3 friends that fished the Mississippi this weekend. All 3 boats caught fish and some pretty good ones were caught. 55lb flathead was the biggest but there were 30s and 20s . Several fish were caught. One friend today at 2 oclock had 13. His biggest was 28 at that time. The 55 was caught today also. Maybe and I say Maybe the feedbag is on. I cant find out till next weekend.

Myself, Cuz, and Al Struckoff fished for a hard 8hrs yesterday, and all we caught was 1 small blue. According to Al, a friend of his was belting the fish too, up around the STL. area. Maybe the fish are moving north?? Glad to see the bite is FINALLY picking up, though.

I appreciate the heads up Bob. I'll be working this week, but will be out there next weekend. As far as I know, the get together for the 13th is still a go. My recommendation is for anyone wanting to join in is that we fish around downtown. I've been hearing alot of good reports from up that way. Like Gary said, our section of river down here seems dead. Not even painting any fish to speak of. You coming down Saturday Bob?

I'd be honored brother Cuz. Where are you gonna meet up? And what time? I will probably be there. The guy Saturday at St. Louis was a buddy of mine. He has a new honey hole. I think I found out today where it is. I know within a couple of hundred yards. I should be able to zero in on it. I will be lookin forward to seeing everyone next week. I will be done with work on Friday. Then dont have to work the rest of the year.

Those are great questions guys, and to be quite honest, I DONT HAVE A CLUE. I have never used the ramp downtown so I dont know much about it. Has anyone else used the downtown ramp recently, and if so, what are the conditions like? Safe to park the cars? etc etc.

You might have to pay a parking charge for use of the parking lot to the casino perhaps. But you might want to check.

I have never used it but I believe that I read a thread where RiverRat said that he has used that ramp a few times. I cant imagine that it would be too safe after dark.

Yeah Bill said he fishes down that way and uses the downtown ramp. He also said he's never had any trouble down there, but also said he usually doesn't go alone.

We have been going down there for over a year now. To date nothing has ever happened other than a good time fishing. Of course there are no gaurantees any where you go. It is a costguard emergency ramp. One of the guys talked to them one day and they said as long as no one blocks the ramp they dont have a problem with us using it. One of ;the guys also put in up closer to the Arch. Dont know exactly where but it looks like it would be possible to put in all along that stretch of bank ;up there.

Good luck. Might see you all out there. Depends upon if Kutter is getting out of his cave for it to rain rather if I will go or not. Nothing like a good ole Kutter-cane crack! Sorry your honor..... Couldnt resist!
