Does anyone have any experience with the weedless lower ends that were on some of the older 3 and 4hp Evinrude/Johnson motors? In my area there are some waterways that are clogged with Water Hyacinth and I found recently that my 6hp Suzuki could power my 14 ft pointed bow aluminium boat through it, but the weeds piled up on the fromt of the lower end and I had to stop and get rid of them. I would hope that the weeds would slide under the lower end on the weedless models and you could keep moving, but I would sure appreciate it if anyone with experience with these lower ends would advise me.

    Thanks,
    Lyndon

I know a guy that bolted a blade on the center of his transom. That cut them into. And allows them to just slide away from the lower unit. Good luck.
