Weather and Crappie

    I have caught the biggest crappie during the worst weather. I think they are a sight feeder and are fooled more easily when its windy.

    they tend to shy away from the sun too, i too catch bigger and more numbers during cold periods and overcast days. when the wind is blowing i usually fish into it, it seems to blow the bait fish in whatever direction it is moving.

    I'm with you, seems like the meat is somewhat more firm. I also like the meat of the black crappie over the white for the same reason.

    It seems like I catch all my crappie during summer time with shiners, beside structure in water
