As summer warms up alot of us water our lawns here are some tips that will help.
Water from 4am till 8 am. The reason for this is that the evaporation rate during the day can reach up to 90%. So you are not getting any water to the roots and wasting water. Watering at night leaves the water standing on the blades and can cause dollar spot etc,(vungus).
One inch of water is best for most turf. Here is how to see what an inch is. Take a clear glass measure and mark and inch. Put in yard and turn on water. Keep track of time. If it takes 20 min to reach the one inch mark you know that from now on you run the sprinkler for 20 min. before moving the sprinkler.
