What is the ideal temp the water should be for the best flathead fishing in the ohio river?
Flatheads will get active around 50 Degrees of water. ONce it hits the low to mid 50's it's go time!!!!
The warmer the water the more they have to eat, cause their matabolism rises when the water rises. So the warmer the water the more they feed.
Our temp in the Grand River was 80 degrees last night. Two boats out until 2 am, and not a cat landed. Full moon, though. That could affect flatties.
Have caught almost all of my decent flatties in water temps between 60-70 deg they will go down to about 55 deg then it pretty much turns off also havent had great success when water temps are above 70 deg at least not for the biguns
