To those who commented on Idaho and not much news on catfishing need to take a better look at what fish are there.

I grew up in South Eastern Idaho...around Idaho Falls. There are no catfish in the waters there because the water temps do not get high enough to allow catfish to survive and repopulate. Downstream on the Snake...say around Boise there are some channel catfish to be had, but fishing for them is a lot more difficult that people think.

I commend those Idahoans who are out catfishing. It is an respectable thing. Most other fishermen would give up and just stick with trout or salmon.

Had one between my knees, trying it a hook out and not hurt the fish, damm thing wiped its head and stuck me just above the knee, went in about 2" took a month to heal up. I herd you can take the slime of a catfish belly and rub it on the wound and it will quit hurting
